Service Children Awards Cymru
The Service children Awards Cymru sponsored by Powys County Council is brought to you in partnership with Veterans Awards CIC and SSCE Cymru with support from the Armed Forces in Wales. The location of the Awards will be held at the Infantry Battle School, Brecon. The day will be supported by the Tri-Services Engagement teams and the fantastic band of the Prince of Wales. This event will take place on Saturday 28th October 2023.
This year we are working with Supporting Service children in Education Wales (SSCE Cymru) to deliver the very first awards for Service children in Wales.
In Wales, we have high numbers of Service children who have shone within their communities, and we would like to recognise the efforts of those individuals who have gone above and beyond to draw attention to the experiences of Service children and their families.
We hope that the Service children who get shortlisted for an award can tell their stories and act as role models for Service children across Wales. We will make a series of video clips with our shortlisted finalists giving tips and advice to other Service children.
Recognising Service children who have made a difference in Sport, Education or their local communities. Our nominated charity for this event will be the fantastic Little Troopers: Home – Little Troopers, “a small charity with a big heart doing the very best for all the children of our British Armed Forces”.
The Veterans Awards are a Not-for-Profit Organisation that promotes the positives from our Military Community and those organisations that support us. It’s been put together by Veterans for Veterans and our Military Community in what has become our home nation’s national awards with three separate award ceremonies taking place in England, Scotland and Wales and we also support the Northern Irish Awards. Any money above and beyond costs is then distributed via a small grants scheme to smaller CIC’s and Charities that work at grassroots level within the Military community and have a turnover of under 100k per annum!
